FOSDA Trains youth in Web Development and Digital Marketing
The Foundation for Security and Development in Africa, FOSDA, with support from Oxfam in Ghana has trained 26 (4-females and 22-males) young people in website designing and digital marketing to enhance their skills for self-employment and digitizing their already existing businesses.
The training, implemented under a Project dubbed ‘ICT Training Program” is a first of its kind to be introduced by FOSDA to specifically train young people with interest in web development/ digital marketing across the various Regional Youth Networks and National Network of Youth Groups (NNYOG) to help them acquire the needed skills to better their lives whether in business or make them more employable to participate in the labor market.
Beneficiaries were taken through a 2-week intensive training program that focused on Web designing using WordPress, a free and open-source content management system platform.
This is what some beneficiaries have said so far:
“Very interactive and the facilitator was patient and understanding. Educative and informative”. – Edna Mate-Kole Student University of Ghana
“I really had an amazing, insightful journey. The Facilitator was simply excellent for Group One. He was very practical and methodological. The best part for me was when he gave the platform to each person in turn to “act as facilitator” for the members whiles he observes. I look forward to other similar opportunities”. – John Aggrey CEO Hired Consult Ghana
“Thanks for taking the time to impart knowledge in us. This training was very helpful considering the IT age in which the world is gearing towards. Also, there was no way I could have been able to afford the commercial fees for such a training. Thanks to all stakeholders” – YAA ADUBA ASARE, CEO Naya Success Axis Farms
