He was an indefatigable Pan Africanist. He saw the struggle in any corner of Africa as his battle and he stood this course till the end. Born in Liberia, He lived in Ethiopia, Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and Ghana. In all these places he carried the Pan African banner with him. He was a founding member of FOSDA, a responsibility he proudly held till the end. He will be gravely missed

Biography Of Thomas Jaye

Dr. Jaye is Deputy Director for Research of the Faculty of Academics Affairs and Research at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Center (KAIPTC). He studied International Politics at the University of Wales, Aberytswyth and previously obtained a MA degree in History at the Moscow State University. He writes on security issues and has other academic interests in conflicts studies, democracy, governance and international relations.

He is author of “Issues of Sovereignty, Strategy and Security Outcomes in the ECOWAS Intervention in the Liberian Civil War” and co-editor of the book “ECOWAS and the Dynamics of peacebuilding in West African”. He has also written on issues related to security culture, HIV/AIDS and securitization, US-Liberia Security Relations and others.

Dr. Jaye teaches Post-War Recovery on the Masters in conflicts, Peace and Security studies and the masters in Gender, Peace Security studies at the KAIPTC.
