The UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons has just reached its 50th ratification! 90 days from today, it will enter into force and become binding international law! 👏

Congratulations to Honduras for their ratification today, and to Jamaica and Nauru, who submitted theirs yesterday. To all 50 states parties to the treaty so far: you are on the right side of history and we applaud you for standing up to the nuclear-armed states and leading the way to a world free of these terrifying weapons for good → https://www.icanw.org/historic_milestone_un_treaty_on_the_prohibition_of_nuclear_weapons_reaches_50_ratifications_needed_for_entry_into_force

And of course, we congratulate and thank each and every one of you who helped make this moment happen. This is an incredible milestone for our movement and we are so unbelievably proud of what we’ve all achieved together! And no, this doesn’t mean the work is done. Far from it. There will be lots to do until the treaty enters into force, and afterwards.

But today, we celebrate this special moment, celebrate the leaders that made it happen, and begin the countdown for the 90 days!
