Crime against human dignity and safety cannot be a substitute to fighting another crime; the police brutality and killing of innocent unarmed civilians cannot be justified by any volumes of act of provocation. The right to life is divine and much to be respected and protected by all especially those at the corridors of power.

Social media footage streamed live from the scene shows protesters tending to the wounded fellows as a result of the unprofessional inhumane treatment from Armed officers onto the civilians in a protest, this is also reported by the BBC Nigeria correspondent Nayeni Jones.

FOSDA is calling for an immediate investigation into the killings of innocent civilians and a high-profile delegation to all the berth families and assure them of the government commitment to server justice to all manner of persons involved.

We further call on the ECOWAS, African Union (AU) and United Nation (UN) to intervene in the matter to calm the citizenry and to restore law and order NOW!
